Merry Christmas from Paris Texas
Culbertson Fountain, town square, Paris, Texas 12/25/2012 |
Just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from Paris, Texas. The first snow of the year was on Christmas Day this year. I dashed over to the square and took some pictures of the snow. Today it is all melted and just a memory of Christmas 2012.

Liefie Restaurant in Winnsboro Texas
David and I had dinner in a quaint restaurant in Winnsboro, Texas, on Friday night after viewing Donna Page's Master's in Art show. We had no idea that Winnsboro was such a happening place on a Friday evening.
Liefie's is owned and operated by a couple from Johannesburg, South Africa. There was live music out in a covered patio area, the food was fresh and well prepared. There were quite a few vegetarian choices as well. Try the South African Marula Fruit Cream for dessert!

Donna Page Master's of Art Show
Much congratulations to Donna Page on her graduation with a Master's of Art from Texas A&M Commerce. Her Master's Exhibition was held at the Fine Arts Center in Winnsboro, Texas on Friday, December 14, 2012. Beautiful work.
Donna's fabulous friends from Dallas drove in the misty rain to see the show!
Her family was also there to wish her well and to show their support.
Beautiful show Donna! I'm going to miss my next door neighbor!

MFA Grad Review 7 Dec 2012
At the end of each semester participants in the Masters of Fine Arts program at Texas A&M Commerce are reviewed by the graduate faculty. Seven students showed their work in the Art Gallery on Friday, December 7, 2012. Christy, Debbie, Katie, Jason, Lough, Paul and Ginger exhibited and explained their graduate work to faculty and guests. Christy is a student at Texas A&M Texarkana and joined our grad seminar class just for the Fall 2012 semester.
If a piece of your work is not presented on the blog, it is not because it was not a wonderful piece, it is because the photograph of it just did not turn out correctly. My apology. I thought I took scads of images but I don't think I took enough to do everyone's work justice.

Night Time Christmas parade in downtown Paris Texas
I always think of my son Travis when I photograph events in Paris, Texas. He lives in New Zealand but he has also lived in Italy, Germany and Hawaii. He often finds images of the people, events and landscapes of Paris and Lamar County to be quaint and/or humorous. Tonight I tried to capture images that would make Travis stop and smile. Merry Christmas everyone.
I do not know any of the people I photographed except for two, Geraldine and her sweet husband.
Everyone else were strangers in an excited crowd of parade watchers on a very pleasant evening.
More later.... Merry Christmas everyone!
