Portrait of a local professional kick fighter

Robert Coulter

Oh, but did I have fun this afternoon photographing local professional kick boxer, Robert Coulter. It is easy to see why he is a professional. He is focused, intense and disciplined. His moma will be proud because he was also very polite!

Re-do of Travis in color

Marvin (my photography teacher at PJC) had me re-do the picture of my son Travis in color. This is using a technique called "kicker lighting". It turned out nice.
The upper level photography students will have the gallery open during the Paris Artwalk the first two weeks in December. Plan now to come have some killer egg nog!

From the hip on Bourbon Street about midnight

In photography class last semester, Vaughn Wascovich showed us pictures where a photographer randomly shot urban street pictures from the camera on his hip. Sorry, but I don't remember the photographer but I remembered the technique while walking down Bourbon Street about midnight last week.

This was so much fun. I didn't try to focus. I didn't try to compose the picture. I just walked down the street with the camera about hip level and randomly clicked when something struck me as interesting.

People didn't react because they thought they were getting their picture taken. In fact, no one paid any attention to me at all. I did use a flash but I was already down the street and most people didn't know where the flash came from anyway.

These aren't the best pictures in the world but they were really fun to take!

Evan Martin

Evan has the most beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest disposition. I think he and his mom, Sandy, had a great time taking photos for my class. Thanks a lot for helping me!

Fun with Avery!

What a precious child.

I think picture #2 is an open loop.

Portraits of Mindy and Logan

What a fun day I had photographing Mindy Moree, our Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and her daughter, Logan.
Both mother and daughter are beautiful inside and out.
We have a lot more great pictures than this for Marvin to choose from for this week's formal portraits!

Lamar County Judge's Portrait

Chuck Superville

Which one do you think he should use for his next campaign?

Or, do you think I need to some different pictures of him in a less formal studio setting?

I was trying to do an open loop lighting technique for class but I am open to any and all suggestions.
