Final Graduate Review 9 December 2011

Below are images from the Texas A&M University - Commerce Fine Arts Graduate Program's Final Review on 9 December 2011.

The program has 9 professors and 14 graduate students.  This is just a sampling of some of the student's work.  I didn't have a chance to take pictures of all the work or all of the faculty and students.  It is a grueling and rewarding day of review and critique. 

Setting up the 2011 Red River Valley County Fair

The workers who arrive early to set up the Red River Valley County Fair are amazing.  This year, 3 different carnival operations came together to make this one of the best County Fairs I can remember.

Here are just a few of the images I managed to take this year while everyone was setting up.

20th Regiment Texas Volunteers in Paris, Texas

The 20th Regiment Texas Volunteers, a Confederate re-enactment group, were in Paris, Saturday, August 20th.  Gosh, I felt so sorry for them in their wool uniforms and long gingham dresses.  But, they put on a really nice demonstration of what it must have been like during the Civil War years.  To the left are a few of the pictures I took.  It was so very hot and humid, I didn't stay too very long.  I scooted off to the 21st century and air conditioning.
