The subway in NYC and Brooklyn

Gorilla shots ....or shooting from the hip

The people on the subways in New York facinated me. My thought was to capture the people on the subway just as they were without posing for the camera.

I put my camera in my lap, did not focus on anything in particular and just clicked away. Most of the time my head was facing the opposite direction from the camera.

This type of photography is called "gorilla" shots or shooting from the hip.

However, I did compose the pictures of the dad and son reading and the 911 sign.
